The variable cross-section helical drilling tool comprises a drilling rig power head, an inner pipe, an outer pipe, a helical blade, a rotary expanding arm, a bottom cover, a sensor, a gate spool and the like. During work, the drilling rig power head rotates to drive the drilling tool to drill into a predetermined depth of the hole, and a concrete pump is started, so that concrete enters the space of the inner pipe. When a predetermined depth of an extension head is reached, the rotary expanding arm unfolds gradually, a drilling rig rotates in the original depth and performs cutting or grinding, and finally an enlarged cavity is formed. Then the rotary expanding arm is retracted, a height is lifted again, the above steps are repeated and concrete cast-in-place piles with a plurality of extension heads are formed.
