Abstract
Provided is a composition for a wire coating material which can achieve both of high heat resistance and good mechanical properties even by conducting silane crosslinking and using magnesium hydroxide originating in a natural mineral. Also provided are an insulated wire having high heat resistance and good mechanical properties and a wire harness. The composition for a wire coating material comprises a silane-grafted polyolefin (A) wherein a silane coupling agent is grafted to a polyolefin, an undenatured polyolefin (B), a functional group-denatured polyolefin (C), magnesium hydroxide (D) originating in a natural mineral, and a crosslinking catalyst (E). The insulated wire comprises a wire coating material that is obtained by silane-crosslinking the aforesaid composition for a wire coating material. The wire harness comprises the aforesaid insulated wire.
