The method includes: a local server sends an upgrading instruction to a remote terminal device by a GPRS network, and the remote terminal device enters an upgrading mode after receiving the instruction and returns OK for response; the local server sequentially sends upgrading data frames, the remote terminal device checks the data frames and determines to be correct, and the data frames are stored into an external RAM (random access memory); and after all the data frames are sent, the remote terminal device erases a flash programming area inside a DSP and writes in program codes in the external RAM and reboots a chip to complete whole upgrading.
