The method employs a sectionalized and slotted process, comprising the steps of firstly electroplating milky white chromium on a surface of a metal material according to a conventional method, then performing secondary electroplating by placing the metal material electroplated by the milky white chromium into another electroplating tank and adding alumina in a secondary electroplating solution. A composite electroplating layer is formed after the metal material is electroplated two times, the electroplating layer is uniformly distributed on the surface of the metal, a hardness reaches HV950-1,100, corrosion resistant strength is 3 times or more that of a conventional chromium electroplating layer, and the composite electroplating layer has superior performance and wide application prospects and economical value.
