Fresh tobacco leaves with consistent maturity degrees are harvested in the field; after the tobacco leaves are sun-cured until the tobacco leaves become 60 percent to 70 percent dry, baking, color setting and stem drying are carried out; three stages of conventional basketry drying, namely a wilting and yellowing stage, a color setting and leaf drying stage and a steam drying and bleaching stage, are shortened into two stages: an air-drying, wilting and yellowing stage and the baking, color setting and stem-drying stage, wherein in the baking, color setting and stem drying stage, the yellowing degree of the tobacco leaves reaches 60 percent to 70 percent, the tobacco leaves are softened and are loaded onto a heatable brick bed to be baked, color setting is carried out when the yellowing degree of the tobacco leaves reaches 80 percent to 90 percent, and finally, baking and steam drying are carried out. The method has the advantages that curing time is obviously shortened; the occupied area is small; labor capacity is reduced; the defect of influence of a great volume of rainwater in the later period of curing is overcome, to be specific, the method is difficult to influence by external environment factors; TSNAs (Tobacco-specific nitrosamines) content is obviously reduced; and sensory quality and physical and chemical quality of the yellow sun-cured tobacco are ensured.
