Abstract

The invention provides an efficient and novel cyclohexane degrading bacterium, namely Acidovorax sp. NX-2, and application of the Acidovorax sp. NX-2 to microbial degradation of cyclohexane. The Acidovorax sp. NX-2 is preserved in China Center for Type Culture Collection which is located in Wuhan University, 430072, China on March 15th, 2015. The preservation number of the Acidovorax sp. NX-2 is CCTCC No. M2015115. The cyclohexane degrading bacterium has the advantages that the cyclohexane degrading bacterium is an aerobic non-fermentation type Gram-negative bacterium, can reproduce by using cyclohexane as the unique carbon source, and completely mineralizes the substrate into CO2 and H2O; under a pure culture condition, the bacterium can well degrade the cyclohexane in the pH range of 6.0-8.0; and the cyclohexane degrading bacterium is high in environment adaptability, and thus a foundation is laid for engineering application using a biological method to purify waste water and waste gas containing cyclohexane.
