The cam shaft adopts a material of a light wear resisting magnesium alloy; the light wear resisting magnesium alloy comprises the following components in percentage by mass: 5-10% of aluminum, 1-5% of zinc, 0.1-0.6% of silicon, 0.5-0.9% of copper, 0.7-1.2% of nickel, 0.2-0.5% of iron, and the balance of magnesium; and the manufacturing method of the cam shaft comprises the following steps: (a) a light wear resisting magnesium alloy cam shaft blank is turned, milled and finished; (b) the surface of the finished cam shaft is treated; and (c) the flow detection, the demagnetization and the warehousing are performed.
