Abstract

The invention discloses a parallel-serial / serial-parallel conversion device for data serial transmission. The device comprises a parallel-serial conversion unit for receiving parallel data, converting the parallel data into serial data and outputting the serial data; and a serial-parallel conversion unit for receiving serial data, converting the serial data into parallel data and outputting the parallel data. The parallel-serial conversion unit is formed by a first holding register, a first shifting register and a first first-in first-out memory to realize conversion of the parallel data into the serial data; and the serial-parallel conversion unit is formed by a second first-in first-out memory, a second shifting register and a second holding register to realize conversion of the serial data into the parallel data. The device is provided with a data cache region, and can effectively simplify data conversion control signals; and an input clock and an output clock of the device can be in different clock regions, so that data conversion errors caused since the input clock and the output clock have clock offset can be overcome.
