Abstract

The invention provides a pulse width tunable laser based on an optical graphene chirp Bragg grating. A second laser is used for optically adjusting the reflection bandwidth of a graphene chirp Bragg grating. Laser output by a first laser is transmitted by a wavelength division multiplexer to a coupler. The coupler transmits part of the laser to the graphene chirp Bragg grating through a saturable absorber. The graphene chirp Bragg grating reflects and transmits laser of which the pulse width is the same with the reflection bandwidth of the grating back to the wavelength division multiplexer. Thus, the laser output by the first laser is transmitted cyclically until laser of which the pulse width is the same with the reflection bandwidth is stably output from a second output end of the coupler. In the process of cyclical transmission, the saturable absorber screens out laser of which the pulse width is the same with the reflection bandwidth. The graphene chirp Bragg grating is prepared by coating a cladding-corroded chirp Bragg grating with graphene. According to the invention, the tuning precision, stability and tuning range can be improved, and the response time can be shortened.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of lasers, in particular to a laser with adjustable pulse width based on optically controlled graphene chirped Bragg gratings. Background technique [0002] Pulse width tunable lasers have the advantages of simple structure, good heat dissipation, and high efficiency. Now they have played a very important role in the fields of optical fiber communication, optical fiber sensing, laser cutting, biomedicine, and nonlinear optics. The existing pulse width tuning methods are mainly divided into the following methods: manually or by using a mechanical stepping system to tune the filter device in the laser cavity to tune the time-domain pulse width of the output mode-locked pulse; through the electric field The pulse width is tuned by controlling the modulation depth of the saturable absorber; in addition, the pulse width is tuned by modulating the modulation depth and loss of the saturable absorber with an external laser. ...
