The short circuit preventive device is mounted between the secondary winding of the voltage transformer and a measuring loop of a sampling unit of the voltage transformer, and comprises an air switch, a binding post and a protective circuit board; the protective circuit board comprises major-loop resistors, protective resistors, LEDs and fuses; and the wire inlet end of the air switch is connected to live and zero wires of the secondary winding of the voltage transformer, the wire outlet end of the air switch is connected to one end of each major-loop resistor, the other end of each major-loop resistor is connected to one end of the corresponding fuse, the other end of each fuse is connected to the wire inlet end of the binding post while being connected to one end of the corresponding protective resistor or the anode of the corresponding LED, the other end of each protective resistor or the cathode of each LED is connected to the wire inlet end of the binding post, and the wire outlet end of the binding post is connected to live and zero wires of the measuring loop of the sampling unit of the voltage transformer.
