Abstract

The invention discloses a heavy duty vehicle R-type electric power steering device which comprises an ECU (electronic control unit), a steering wheel sensor, a steering column, a gear/rack steering gear and an electric power mechanism. The ECU of the device acquires corner/torque signals of a steering wheel and vehicle speed signals, current outputted to a sleeve motor is calculated, rotation of the sleeve motor is subjected to deceleration and torque increase by a planetary roller screw mechanism and then transformed into translational motion of a screw, namely, one part of force of a rack ofthe steering gear and a tie rod is from the force moment of the steering wheel turned by a driver and inputted by the steering column and the gear/rack steering gear, another part of the force is from the torque of the sleeve motor and inputted by the planetary roller screw mechanism, and the two parts jointly realize the steering intention of the driver. The heavy duty vehicle R-type electric power steering device is compact in structure, reliable in work, high in efficiency, stable in steering and suitable for power-assisted steering work of a motor bus under the condition of heavy load.
