Embodiment Construction

[0050] figure 1 A flow chart of a method for automatic exposure adjustment during X-ray imaging of a moving object is shown. The method is characterized in that a specific analysis is performed on the acquired image data (=x-ray images), the results of the analysis of the image data being suitably taken into account in the exposure adjustment. This particular analysis is only limited to analyzing the time resolution of the x-ray image, which is mainly influenced by the duration of the x-ray pulse (=pulse width of the x-ray radiation).

[0051] To this end, in a method step 100, the 2D image data PD of the moving object acquired by the X-ray imaging device are transmitted to three software modules of the computing and control unit 1, in particular to the following modules:

[0052] 1. Motion detection module,

[0053] 2. The edge detection module, and

[0054] 3. Profile (Profil) selection module.

[0055] In method step 101 a motion map MM (=Bewegungskarte) is generated wi...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for automatically controlling the exposure in an X-ray imaging of a moving object to be irradiated. The method comprises the following steps: 1) generating (100) X-ray images (PD) at different times with a predeterminable pulse width (PW) of X-ray radiation; 2) determining (101, MM) at least one moving image region from at least two of the generated X-ray images (PD); 3) determining (102, EM) at least one moving edge of the moving image region; 4) selecting at least one pixel of the edge; 5) determining (103) the time course of the intensity (tl) of the pixelfrom the generated X-ray images; 6) evaluating (105, PW) the time course of the intensity (tl); and 7) changing the pulse width (PW) in accordance with the evaluation. Alternatively, the spatial course of the intensity (sl) can also be evaluated close to the edge. The invention provides the advantage of ensuring an optimum image quality and reducing negative influences of a sub-optimum parameter selection, for example, a loss of contrast due to an excessive tube voltage. The invention also relates to an X-ray imaging device and a digital storage medium for carrying out the method according tothe invention.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method and an X-ray imaging device for automatic exposure adjustment during X-ray imaging of a moving object to be irradiated. The invention also relates to an associated digital storage medium. Background technique [0002] Equipment used to perform X-ray imaging has an automatic exposure controller. This ensures that a suitable signal strength is always present at the input of the x-ray detector. This is achieved by setting different x-ray parameters, in particular by adjusting tube voltage, tube current, x-ray prefilter and pulse width of x-ray radiation. [0003] Thus, if the absorption properties of the object to be examined or irradiated change, for example due to changes in perspective angle, the above-mentioned x-ray parameters are automatically adjusted, thereby ensuring a constant signal intensity at the input of the x-ray detector. [0004] However, any change in X-ray parameters is also associated with disadvan...
