Abstract

The invention provides a metallographic specimen mechanical polishing sample preparation method of industrial pure titanium TA1 and TA2. The method comprises the following steps: step 1, after performing wire-electrode cutting for a specimen, respectively using 240#, 800# and 1000# silicon dioxide abrasive papers to grind the specimen; step 2, polishing the ground specimen with nylon cloth, wherein a polishing paste is nano silicon dioxide particles; step 3, after polishing, placing the specimen in an etchant solution for etching; step 4, repeating from the step 2 to the step 3 for 3-5 times,and polishing the specimen to form a mirror plane; step 5, cleaning a surface of the specimen with a velvet polishing cloth, and removing moisture; step 6, placing the specimen in the etchant solutionfor etching, immediately washing the specimen with clean water and dehydrating with the specimen with absolute ethyl alcohol, and observing a metallographic structure under a microscope. The method provided by the invention has the beneficial effects of being capable of quickly polishing the specimen to form the mirror plane without generating low strain twin crystal and surface scratch, and remarkably reducing polishing and sample preparation time; and the metallographic structure of the specimen can be displayed clearly.
