The major QTLPm3.1 for powdery mildew resistance in bitter gourd and the InDel molecular marker are both located on chromosome 3 of bitter gourd, the genetic distance of the major QTLPm3.1 for powdery mildew resistance in bitter gourd is 14 cM, and the physical distance is 2.9 Mb. Therefore, a primer pair for amplifying the InDel molecular marker and a kit thereof are also developed.
