[0053] A glyphosate DMA salt concentrate was prepared by reacting 408 grams of glyphosate artificial wet cake with 283 grams of a 40% aqueous solution of dimethylamine in 61 grams of water. This concentrate contains 62% glyphosate DMA salt. The solution has a density of 1.259 g / ml.

[0070] Efficacy of glyphosate DMA salt formulations against 5 dicotyledonous plants and 3 monocotyledonous weeds was evaluated in a greenhouse experiment. Formulations applied at 100, 200, 400, 600 and 800gae / ha with RoundupUltra TM Herbicide, Roundup UltraMAX TM and RoundupWeatherMAX TM Herbicide (both Monsanto) was used as standard treatment. The spray volume was 187 liters per hectare (l / ha); at the time of application, the weeds were at the 3-leaf stage. Each treatment was replicated 3 times; evaluation was carried out at 14 days after application by visual inspection of the percentage of control.

Abstract

This invention relates to a high-strength herbicidal formulation containing high concentrations of glyphosate monomethylamine or dimethylamine salt and one or more surfactants selected to enhance the herbicidal activity of the glyphosate salts.
