The paper machine includes a paper making process unit for manufacturing wet paper from slurry pulp suspension sent from the pulp making section in preceding process, a drying process unit for drying and regenerating the wet paper manufactured in the paper making process unit, and a calender roll unit for calendering the dry paper dried in the drying process unit, in which the calender roll unit is disposed adjacently to the downstream side position of the drying process unit, and calenders the dry paper discharged from the drying process unit by rolling and pressing from both face and back sides.
