Embodiment Construction

[0035] The machine tools shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 basically consist of a tool holder 10 and a tool head 12, which are materially connected to each other (brazed) at their mutually facing joint surfaces 14, 16 by means of a soldering piece 18 made of ductile solder. . The exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 a to c is designed as a drilling tool, while the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 2 a and b is designed as a reaming tool.

[0036] In the case of FIGS. 1 a to c, the tool holder 10 has two flutes 20 which are bounded on their sides by two helically curved ridges 22 . Furthermore, two functional channels 24 of triangular cross-section are provided in the shank, which are helically bent with the same pitch as the ridge 22 and extend along the ridge 22 of the shank 10 . The tool holders 10, preferably made of carburized case-hardened steel, form the semi-finished product, whose flutes 20 and functional channels 24 are formed by swaging in a tubular blank (cf. DE-A-1985...

Abstract

The invention relates to a machine tool with a tool shank (10) and a cutting head (12) made from different materials, which are joined to each other on opposite joint surfaces (14,16) in a positive material fit by means of a joint layer (18') made of a ductile solder material. According to the invention, in order to obtain a solder connection which is substantially stress-free, powder particles (31) made of a temperature-resistant material with a thermal expansion coefficient which is lower than the solder material (30) are embedded into the joint layer (18') and the density of the powder particles (31) varies along the entire thickness of the joint layer (18').

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a machine tool, comprising a tool holder and a tool head made of different materials, which are connected to each other in a material-tight manner at joint surfaces facing each other via a joint layer made of ductile solder. The invention also relates to a method for producing such a machine tool and a welding lug suitable for producing such a machine tool. Background technique [0002] In the production of drill rods it is known to separate tool shanks and cutter heads of different materials, for example by machining or chipless machining, and to braze to one another at the mutually facing joint surfaces (DE-A-19856986). A particular problem in producing soldered connections is that the materials to be joined have different coefficients of thermal expansion. This means that stresses may develop in the weld zone during cooling, which reduce the load-carrying capacity of the tool and lead to the formation of cracks. Contents ...
