The present invention is foamed polypropylene material and its production process. The foamed polypropylene material is produced with polypropylene resin 30-97 wt%, other olefin polymer 0-57 wt%, foaming agent 2-20 wt% and cross-linking assistant 0.1-5 wt%, and through a radiation cross-linking process including smelting the mixture at 110-160 deg.c, blending, shaping and radiation cross-linking in the radiation dose of 5-60 kGy; and a high temperature foaming process of normal pressure foaming at 200-350 deg.c or pressurized foaming at 200-300 deg.c. The present invention has a radiation cross-linking process superior to chemical cross-linking process with likelihood of breaking molecular chain and is suitable for industrial production, and the foamed polypropylene material has high physical and mechanical performance and high heat resistance.
