Abstract

The invention relates to a preparation method and application of a propylene / butene random copolymer for a BOPP (biaxially-oriented polypropylene) film. By using a high-stereoselectivity Ziegler-Natta catalyst, propylene and 1-butene are directly polymerized in a reactor to obtain a propylene / butene random copolymer of which the 1-butene content is 0.1-5 mol%. The propylene / butene random copolymer provided by the invention has the advantages of low soluble substance content, high deflection and favorable optical properties, and therefore, can be used for preparing a biaxially-oriented film. The BOPP film has excellent transparency, glossiness and mechanical properties.
