Abstract

The invention is an internal combustion engine and relates to a two-stroke large diesel engine, comprising at least one piston limited combustion chamber by means of combined action of a cylinder and a crankshaft, at least one turbocharger, and a recirculation channel. The combustion chamber has at least one air outlet used for discharging exhaust gas to exhaust air ducts and at least one air inlet used for inputting scavenging gas in air inlet ducts. The turbocharger has a compressor in the air inlet ducts and a turbine in the exhaust air ducts. The recirculation channel is a branch of the exhaust air ducts or the combustion chamber and is guided to the air inlet ducts, used for dividing exhaust gas and guiding the exhaust gas in the air inlet ducts. The air inlet ducts are provided with at least one recirculation compressor so as to compressing the guided exhaust gas into the scavenging air flow in the air inlet ducts in a flow-dividing manner. In order to drive the recirculation compressor, a steam turbine coupled with the recirculation compressor in a torque transmission manner is provided, i.e., a steam turbine of a steam turbine combiner forming a non-transmission mechanism with the recirculation compressor.
