Abstract

The invention provides a plant drought stress inducible expression promoter PosDro2 and an application thereof. The invention also provides an expression cassette, a plant expression vector, host bacteria and a converter containing the promoter. According to the invention, the promoter is applied to plant transgenic engineering. A rice promoter PosDro2 cloned in the invention can be used for regulating and controlling concentrative expression of genes in a plant under a drought stress induction condition and has a remarkable value in actual application. Through use of the promoter, the gene of a crop variety is modified, for instance, the promoter is used for regulating and controlling the expression of a target gene in the plant under the drought stress induction condition, so that the growth characteristics and the drought resistance ability of the rice can be increased and improved; the promoter is used for replacing a constitutive promoter such as 35S and the like, thus an ideal transgenic drought-enduring plant variety with high biosafety can be cultivated.
