The method comprises the following steps of dissolving hydroquinone into an acid water medium and mixing uniformly to prepare a monomer solution; dissolving an oxidizing agent into deionized water to prepare an oxidizing agent solution; adding the oxidizing agent solution into the monomer solution; after the mixed reaction liquid reacts completely in the water bath environment at a certain temperature, separating the product to obtain poly(hydroquinone). Compared with the prior art, a chemical oxidative polymerization method is adopted in the invention, so that poly(hydroquinone) can be synthesized at the water bath temperature not more than 100 DEG C.
