The invention relates to a method for enriching GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) in mulberry leaves. The method comprises the steps that: ganoderma lucidum is activated by a PDA (Potato-Dextrose-Agar) culture plate, and then is transferred to a PDA liquid culture medium to be cultured until mycelial pellets grow from the culture which is used as a fermentation seed; according to the inoculum size of 1-3% of volume ratio, the cultivated culture is inoculated into a mulberry leaf culture medium, and after shaking and fermentation at constant temperature, a mulberry leaf ganoderma lucidum fermentation broth with high content of GABA is obtained. The mulberry leaf culture medium comprises mulberry leaf powder with mass percent of 1-5%, 0.1-0.5 mg / 100ml calcium chloride, and a PDA liquid culture medium with pH being 6-8. The method disclosed by the invention is simple and convenient to operate, the yield is high, no pollution is generated, and separation and purification are facilitated. The mulberry leaf fermentation broth with high content of GABA can be further developed into functional food, which has a pharmacological function of preventing and treating geriatric diseases and mental diseases, and higher application value is realized.
