The invention has the advantages that compositional formulas of current friction materials are re-optimized, side products of corn---cornstalks are fully utilized, and the cornstalks are carbonized and graphitized into the activated carbon powder which substitutes for natural graphite powder to be added into the friction material, so that production cost of the friction material is reduced effectively, utilization channels of the cornstalks are widened, and economic benefit of the cornstalks is improved.
