[0198] 1. Preparation of PBPE

[0199] Two PBPEs were prepared using hafnium metal complexes of polyvalent aryloxyether catalysts.

[0200] Catalyst B is a hafnium metal complex of a polyvalent aryloxyether catalyst, which is [[2',2"'-[1,3-propanediylbis(oxyl-KO)]bis-{3-[ 9H-3,6-bis-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-carbazol-9-yl]}-5'-fluoro-5-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl )-[1,1'-biphenyl]-2-hydroxyl-KO]](2-)]dimethyl hafnium.

[0201] Table 1 below provides the name and structure of Catalyst B.

[0202] Table 1 - Hafnium metal complexes of polyvalent aryloxyether catalysts

[0203]

[0204]Each PBPE is made according to the following procedure. Catalyst B and co-catalyst component solutions were metered using pumps and mass flow meters and combined with the catalyst rinse solvent and introduced into the bottom of the reactor. The co-catalyst used is a long-chain alkyl ammonium borate approximately equal in stoichiometry to methyl di(octadecyl) ammonium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl) bora...

Abstract

The present disclosure provides an adhesive composition. The adhesive composition includes: A) a propylene based plastomer or elastomer (PBPE) comprising up to 15 wt % units derived from ethylene and having (i) a Koenig B-value less than 1.0; (ii) a total unsaturation per mole of propylene from 0.010% to 0.030%; (iii) a density from 0.860 g / cc to 0.890 g / cc; (iv) a melt viscosity at 177 DEG C from 1,000 mPa.s to 15,000 mPa.s; and (v) a weight average molecular weight from 20,000 to 50,000 g / mole.

Description

[0001] References to related applications [0002] This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Application Serial No. 62 / 040,143, filed August 21, 2014, which is incorporated herein by reference to the extent the language does not conflict with the content of this application. Background technique [0003] Adhesive compositions have a curing temperature, which is a key parameter affecting the utility of the adhesive composition for a given application. If the adhesive composition cures too quickly, its ability to form an effective bond is compromised. On the other hand, if the adhesive composition cures too slowly, there may be insufficient cohesive force during the further steps of processing the bonded assembly. [0004] The art recognizes the need for adhesive compositions that have shorter cure times and can maintain suitable cohesion. Contents of the invention [0005] The present invention relates to an adhesive composition comprising PBPE (propylene based ...
