Abstract

The invention provides a novel medical anti-bacterial tantalum-cuprum (Ta-Cu) alloy and a preparation method thereof. The novel medical anti-bacterial tantalum-cuprum (Ta-Cu) alloy comprises, by weight percentage, 5-20% of cuprum (Cu) and the balance tantalum (Ta). The medical tantalum-cuprum alloy is prepared through a hot isostatic pressure method; and by means of optimized preparation process parameters, the tantalum-cuprum alloy which is excellent in mechanical performance and has the anti-bacterial function can be obtained. The obtained medical tantalum-cuprum alloy has the unique anti-bacterial function, can remarkably lower bacterial infection risks caused in the using process of tantalum-based alloy implanted medical apparatus and instruments in existing medical technologies, is mainly used for suturing bones, tendons and fascia and fixing teeth or used for conducting suturing in viscera operations and can also be widely applied to various tantalum-cuprum alloy implanted medical apparatus and instruments used in the clinical field of medical science such as orthopedics, stomatology and cardiovascular stent intervention.
