Problems solved by technology

Therefore, there is a problem that when the mesh member is expanded and contracted in the radial direction, the inner peripheral covering portion (annular member) and the outer peripheral covering portion (protective tube) hinder the movement of the wires constituting the mesh member (specifically, In other words, the inclination angle of the wires that make up the grid part changes with respect to the axis)
Therefore, there is a problem that stress concentrates on the ends of the mesh member, and the wires constituting the mesh member are easily broken.

Embodiment Construction

[0036] refer to Figure 1 to Figure 5 The medical device 1 of the first embodiment will be described. exist Figure 1 to Figure 4 In the drawing, the right side in the figure is the front end side (distal side) for insertion into the body, and the left side is the rear end side (proximal side, proximal side) for manipulation by operators such as doctors. also, figure 1 Indicates the state of the grid part 20 contracted in the radial direction, figure 2 A state in which the grid member 20 is expanded in the radial direction.

[0037] The medical device 1 is, for example, a treatment device for dilating and treating a stenosis. like figure 1 as well as figure 2 As shown, the medical device 1 is mainly composed of a front end piece 10 , a radially expandable grid member 20 , an annular member 30 , and a shaft 40 .

[0038] The mesh member 20 has at least the first wires 24 and the second wires 26 interwoven into a mesh (mesh shape). In the present embodiment, the first ...

Abstract

The invention discloses a medical device. The medical device is structured such that a wire which constitutes a mesh member is not restricted to act. When the mesh member is expanded, the structure reduces stress concentration to an end part of the mesh member, so that the wire which constitutes the mesh member is not easily broken. In the medical device (1), a wrapping portion (32) and a lining portion (36) are fixed to each other at fixation portions (50), the fixation portions (50) being within spaces (22) that are defined by the first wire (24) and the second wire (26), wherein neither the wrapping portion (32) nor the lining portion (36) is fixed to any of the first wire (24) or the second wire (26). Therefore, when the mesh member (20) radially expands and radially contracts, the first wire (24) and the second wire (26) are not obstructed by a cylindrical member (30) to act, and the stress concentration at the end part (21) of the mesh member (20) is reduced, which results in the breaking up of the first wire (24) or the second wire (26) which constitutes the mesh member (20).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a medical device including a radially expandable and contractible (expandable) mesh member. Background technique [0002] Conventionally, there is known a treatment method (PTCA: Percutaneous Transcatheter Coronary Angioplasty) that dilates a stenosis formed in a blood vessel or a digestive organ using a medical device such as a balloon catheter. Such medical devices generally include radially expandable and contractible expandable members (balloons, mesh members), and radially expand the expandable members (balloons, mesh members) to expand the stenotic portion. [0003] However, when the calcification of the stenosis is worsened, it becomes difficult for the expansion and contraction member of the balloon to expand the stenosis. Therefore, for calcified stenosis, there are many cases where a medical device including an expansion / contraction member of a mesh member is used (see, for example, Patent Document 1 below). ...
