The total flavonoids from waxberry have effects of up-regulating expression of eNOS and improving activity of eNOS; the total flavonoids from waxberry are used as the eNOS agonist, areapplied to preparation of medicines for treating eNOS-mediated diseases, and can effectively treat diseases caused by endothelial dysfunction; the preparation method of the total flavonoids from waxberry comprises the following steps: taking 100-150 parts by weight of waxberry, crushing, adding 500-1200 parts by weight of an extraction solvent for extracting 1-3 times for 60-120 min each time, andfiltering, combining and concentrating extracts obtained in several times, wherein the extraction solvent comprises ethanol and/or ethyl acetate. The preparation method is simple; the obtained totalflavonoids from waxberry are high in yield and purity; a final product is safe and liable; and the eNOS agonist containing the total flavonoids from waxberry can effectively treat the diseases causedby endothelial dysfunction.
