The invention relates to a liquid crystal composition comprising dibenzo-difurans and application of the liquid crystal composition. The liquid crystal composition is prepared from one or more of compounds represented by various generation formulas I; in the general formula I, R1 and R2 are alkyl or alkoxy of H, F, Cl, CN, and C1 to C12 and alkenyl or alkenyloxy of C2 to C12; Z1 and Z2 are one ofsingle-bond or group-CH2CH2-, carbon triple bond, -CH=CH-, -O-, -CF2-CF2-, -CF2-CH2-, -CH2-CF2-, -CF=CF-, -CH2-, -(CH2)3-, -(CH2)4-, -CH2O-, -OCH2-, -CF2O, and -CH2O-; a loop A1 and a loop A2 are single bond or cyclohexane and the like; and m and n are respectively 0, 1 and 2, and the sum of m and n is less than or equal to 2. The liquid crystal composition has the performances of extremely high polarity, low viscosity, high response and the like and is suitable for a display device in VA, ECB, PALC, FFS or IPS modes.
