The invention provides a method and a device for establishing a reservoir water quality prediction model. The method comprises the following steps: obtaining water quality index monitoring data and algae growth characteristic data; performing fitting analysis on each water quality index monitoring data and algae growth characteristic data, determining main influence factors and multivariate nonlinear models of a to-be-detected reservoir; analyzing a fitting analysis result and the water quality index monitoring data using SPSS to obtain a parameter estimation value, thereby obtaining a first prediction model and a second prediction model; and determining an optimal model in the first prediction model and the second prediction model, using the optimal model as a reservoir water quality prediction model so as to predict the water quality of the to-be-detected reservoir. According to the method, the reservoir water quality prediction model can be obtained, the water quality of the to-be-detected reservoir can be predicted through the reservoir water quality prediction model, early warning can be given to prompt the relevant personnel to take countermeasures in advance, and the technical problem that the hysteresis property exists in the detection for the reservoir at present is alleviated.
