Abstract

The Yagi leaky wave antenna comprises a dielectric substrate, an artificial surface plasmon transmission line,two coplanar-waveguide-to-transmission-line transitions and multiple metal Yagi patches which are arranged on the dielectric substrate. Multiple rectangular internal grooves are arranged at equal intervals along the center line of the artificial surface plasmon transmission line. Multiple Yagi patches are equidistantly arranged on the same side of the artificial surface plasmon transmission line.The Yagi patches are composed of long patches and short patches which are arranged in parallel. The coupling strength between the Yagi patches and the artificial surface plasmon transmission line canbe adjusted by adjusting the gap size between the Yagi patches and the plasmon transmission line and the matching and radiation characteristics of the antenna can be adjusted.
