Abstract

Provided is a method for preparing a cathode active material precursor for a secondary battery, comprising the steps of: moving, to a coprecipitation filtrate storage tank, a coprecipitation filtrategenerated after a coprecipitation reaction; removing a metal hydroxide by passing the coprecipitation filtrate through a filter; reacting the metal hydroxide-removed coprecipitation filtrate with sulfuric acid or nitric acid, thereby generating ammonium sulfate or ammonium nitrate while removing ammonia from the metal hydroxide-removed coprecipitation filtrate; precipitating sodium sulfate by cooling and crystallizing the coprecipitation filtrate from which the metal hydroxide and ammonia are removed; filtering the precipitated sodium sulfate, thereby separating the precipitated sodium sulfatefrom the coprecipitation filtrate from which the metal hydroxide and ammonia are removed; drying the sodium sulfate separated from the coprecipitation filtrate, and moving, to a circulation concentration tank, the coprecipitation filtrate separated from the sodium sulfate; and heating, to a predetermined temperature, the coprecipitation filtrate stored, in order to be recycled, in the circulationconcentration tank, and carrying out N2 purging or bubbling.
