The method comprises the following steps: removing an outer sheath and a metal sleeve at one ends of two to-be-connected cables, and reserving a water-blocking buffering belt; preprocessing the outer semi-conductive layers, the insulating layers and the inner semi-conductive layers of the cables; connecting conductors of the two cables located on the same horizontal plane through an exothermic welding technology; arranging the inner semi-conductive layers at the welding positions; forming insulating layers at the inner semi-conductive layers by adopting a polypropylene insulating material; and forming the outer semi-conductive layers on the insulating layers by adopting a semi-conductive material. The manufacturing method of the molded joint is convenient to operate, the manufactured intermediate joint and the cables form an integrated structure, and the problem of breakdown of the intermediate joint of the cable due to local electric field distortion of an insulating layer caused by a movable interface generated by different materials between the cable and the intermediate joint can be solved.
