Embodiment Construction

[0013] Advantageous refinements of the subject matter according to the invention are achieved with the features of the subclaims.

[0014] figure 1 The principle of transmission and reception according to the invention is shown. There are multiple transmitters (TX 1 to TX n ), wherein each transmitter is operated with a transmission signal that is modulated with an individual digital phase code according to the PMCW (Phase-Modulated Continuous Wave) method. The digital signal is then converted to analog by means of a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and upmixed to a frequency band between 76 and 81 GHz. Each transmitter now transmits its own individually coded signal, wherein the wave of the electromagnetic carrier signal transmitted by the antenna is circularly polarized. The waveform can here be left-handed circular (linkszirkular) or right-handed circular (rechtszirkular). The signal reflected by the target object reaches the receiving antenna. In this case, there ar...

Abstract

Polarimetric radar consisting of a transmitting arrangement, in which the carrier signals have circular polarization, wherein all transmitters in the transmitting arrangement are used at the same timeand each transmitter is operated with a transmission signal modulated with an individual digital phase current, and a receiver arrangement, which receives the reflected signals via an antenna arrangement, wherein there are both receiving antennas which are designed for left-circularly polarized electromagnetic waves and receiving antennas which are designed for right-circularly polarized electromagnetic waves, wherein the use of a plurality of transmitters and receivers provides an overall arrangement which is operated according to the multiple input multiple output method.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a radar system according to the features of claim 1 , a suitable application according to claim 12 and a method for determining an object according to claim 13 , wherein the radar system has a digital phase encoding and a circular pole optimized carrier signal. Background technique [0002] In the case of autonomous driving, which is aimed at in the future, it is known to require the use of several radar sensors per vehicle. Interference occurs here with the currently used signal modulation method FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave)). The interference leads to a strong increase in the noise level, so that objects can no longer be recognized. Concepts and strategies for avoiding interference are difficult to devise, since avoidance strategies have to be sought in signal technology, for example in frequency or by means of coordinated transmission cycles. However, this strategy reache...
