The thrust bearing to be measured has friction torque M, when the lower end of the thrust bearing rotates, the upper end thereof also rotates, friction torque M0 produced by the torque sensor obstructs rotation of the upper end of the thrust bearing and maintains dynamic equilibrium with M, so that M0 of the thrust bearing produced by the torque sensor is equal to M of the thrust bearing to be measured and the method is called the torque balance method. Conversion, filtration, amplification are carried out on a measured M0 signal by the torque sensor by a front end circuit in a data processing system, the processed signal is output to the computer, an M dynamic curve is depicted by appraisal and analysis, and finally a maximum value, an average value and an undulating value are given.
