The invention provides green
cathode paste for
aluminum electrolysis, which comprises green cold-rammed lining paste and green cold-rammed
steel bar paste which are made of carbonaceous aggregate and a water-soluble biological binder. The invention also provides a preparation method of the green
cathode paste for
aluminum electrolysis. The preparation method comprises the following steps: preparation of the water-soluble biological binder: carrying out a reaction on cereal
starch hydrolyzed syrup and
catechol under the condition of p-toluenesulfonic acid; adding a weakly alkaline substance, adjusting the pH value, weighing the carbon aggregate and the binder, and uniformly mixing the carbon aggregate and the binder; mixing and kneading: pouring the carbon aggregate and the binder into a mixing and kneading pot, and carrying out
dry mixing and wet mixing in sequence; and packaging: taking the wet-mixed paste out of a pot, cooling, packaging and warehousing. According to the preparation method of the green
cathode paste disclosed by the invention, the harm to
human health and the
pollution to the environment in the production and use processes of the traditional
asphalt cathode paste are eliminated by using the water-soluble biological binder, and the coking value of the cereal
starch hydrolyzed syrup serving as the binder is remarkably increased by using the preparation method of the green cathode paste disclosed by the invention; and the strength requirement of the green cathode paste of the
aluminum electrolysis cell is met.
