The method comprises the following steps: acquiring image information of a to-be-welded workpiece; according to the image information, determining the initial position of a welding seam of the to-be-welded workpiece; and according to the determined initial position of the welding seam, guiding a welding seam robot to weld. According to the technical scheme, the image information of the to-be-welded workpiece is obtained by the visual method, the initial position of the welding seam of the to-be-welded workpiece is determined through image processing, and the welding seam robot is guided to move to the initial position of the welding seam for welding. In the whole welding operation process, manual intervention is not needed, the welding efficiency is high, and the user experience degree is good.
