Example Embodiment

[0308] Example 1: Formulation of Conditioner

[0309] Conditioners (Inv.) 1-4 according to the present invention and Comparative Conditioners (comp.) 1-5 were prepared (unless otherwise indicated, levels are expressed as a weight percent of active material relative to the total weight of each conditioner) :

[0310]

[0311] Preparation scheme

[0312] Prepare the conditioner as follows:

[0313] 1. Introduce water, PQ-67 / PQ-10 (if present), hydroxyethyl cellulose, ethyl hydroxypyrone, dimethyl sulfone into a beaker to obtain an aqueous phase;

[0314] 2. Introduce glycerol and behenyltrimethylammonium chloride into the water phase;

[0315] 3. Add cetearyl alcohol, cetyl ester, salicylic acid to the water phase to obtain a mixture, then emulsify the mixture at 65°C to obtain an emulsion;

[0316] 4. Introduce the phenoxyethanol, dipropylene glycol, ethanol, dye, and dimethylammonium chloride (if present) into the emulsion.

Example Embodiment

[0317] Example 2: Evaluation of Conditioning Agents

[0318] The color uptake and color properties of the conditioners prepared in Example 1 were evaluated as follows:

[0319] Step 1: 0.4g of shampoo is applied to 1g of coloured hair swatch, then the shampoo is rinsed off;

[0320] Step 2: 0.4 g of the conditioner to be evaluated is applied to 1 g of the colored hair swatch, the conditioner is then rinsed off, the hair swatch is dried, and color uptake is evaluated;

[0321] Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2 four times to see color performance;

[0322] Each test is scored according to the following criteria.

[0323] 5: excellent;

[0324] 4: good;

[0325] 3: acceptable;

[0326] 2: bad;

[0327] 1: No visible effect.

Abstract

Provided is a composition for caring for/making up keratin fibres, comprising: a) at least one quaternary diammonium polycondensate consisting of repeating units corresponding to formula (I) wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4, which may be the same or different, represent an alkyl or hydroxyalkyl group comprising from about 1 to 4 carbon atoms, r and s are integers ranging from about 2 to 20, and c) at least one quaternary diammonium polycondensate consisting of repeating units corresponding to formula (I) wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4, which may be the same or different, represent an alkyl or hydroxyalkyl group comprising from about 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and X-is an anion derived from an inorganic acid or an organic acid; b) at least one cellulose-based cationic polymer; c) at least one anionic direct dye; and d) at least one cationic surfactant. Further provided is a cosmetic process for caring for keratin fibres, comprising at least the step of applying said composition to said keratin fibres.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to compositions for the care / makeup of keratin fibers. The present invention also relates to a cosmetic method for the care of keratin fibers. Background technique [0002] There are many products that can be used to change the natural color of hair. Methods of changing hair color may involve depositing an artificial color onto the hair, which provides the hair with a different shade or color, or enhances the color of the hair, eg, from a dark brown shade to a medium or light brown shade. Hair color can be changed using permanent, semi-permanent or temporary hair coloring products. [0003] Many consumers desire a permanent color change and therefore use products containing permanent dyes. Conventional permanent hair coloring products are dye compositions comprising oxidation dye precursors, also known as primary intermediates or couplers. These oxidation dye precursors are colorless or weakly colored compounds that, w...
