Embodiment Construction

[0124] In a first embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 1, a process for producing a dilute ethylene stream and a dilute propylene stream from a cracked gas stream is provided.

[0125] Step (1) is to separate the cracked gas stream in line 10 in deethanizer zone 15 to generate C in line 20 2- C in stream and line 45 3+ logistics. Deethanizer zone 15 includes enough to obtain C in line 20 2- C in stream and line 45 3+ Fractionation column for streams. C 2- Streams include hydrogen, methane, ethane, acetylene and ethylene. C 3+ Logistics includes C 3 Hydrocarbons and heavier components. The cracked gas stream in line 10 includes hydrogen, methane, C 2 Hydrocarbon, C 3 Hydrocarbons, and heavier components, and may be prepared by any method known in the art.

[0126] Step (2) is to C in pipeline 20 in hydrogenation zone 25 2- The stream is hydrogenated to remove a portion of the acetylene to provide a dilute ethylene stream in line 30. Hydrogenation i...

Abstract

A process is provided to produce a dilute ethylene stream and a dilute propylene stream to be used as feedstocks for producing olefin-based derivatives. Specifically, the dilute ethylene stream is used as a feedstock to produce ethylbenzene, and the dilute propylene stream is used as a feedstock to produce cumene, acrylic acid, propylene oxide and other propylene based derivatives.

Description

[0001] This application is a continuation-in-part of application Serial No. 09 / 922,445, filed November 16, 2001, and the applicant therefore claims priority under 37 C.F.R. 1.78. technical field [0002] The present invention relates to the technical field of separating cracked gas streams to produce dilute olefin streams for use as feedstock for the production of olefin-based derivatives. More particularly, the present invention relates to the technical field of separating cracked gas streams to produce dilute ethylene and propylene streams as feedstock for the production of olefin-based derivatives. More specifically, the dilute ethylene stream is used as a feedstock for the production of ethylbenzene and the dilute propylene stream is used as a feedstock for the production of cumene, acrylic acid and propylene oxide or other propenyl derivatives. Background technique [0003] In the chemical industry, raw material costs are an important part of production costs. Research...
