Problems solved by technology

In the development of paper for inkjet printing, especially photographic paper has received special attention, but it is very expensive and therefore unsuitable for "normal" color prints, such as those often required in everyday office work, for reasons of cost
[0003] Standard papers, on the other hand, often produce only insufficient depth of color in inkjet printing, have excessively long drying times and / or lack satisfactory edge definition
[0004] In addition, the basis weight of photographic papers is often too high for general office applications

Abstract

The aim of said invention is to obtain a binder for a coating paint used for producing a low-cost and good quality inkjet paper providing with the inkjet colours of relatively high colour densities, thereby substituting in many cases highvalued and expensive qualities of inkjet-photopaper. For this purpose, said invention is characterised in that the inventive binder comprises gelatine in the form of the first component thereof, fractions of at least one type of another binder component selected from vinylalcohol polymers and copolymers, carbohydrates and the derivatives thereof, wherein the gelatine solid content in the binder is greater than the sum of solid content of the other binder component(s).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to binders for finishing paints (Streichfarbe), especially water-based finishing paints, which are used for coating base paper in the production of paper for inkjet printing, to finishing paints comprising such binders, As well as papers for inkjet printing produced in this way and their production methods. Background technique [0002] Papers for inkjet printing are known to be of different qualities and based on different paper coatings and are thus varied. In the development of paper for inkjet printing, especially photographic paper has received special attention, but it is very expensive and therefore not suitable for "normal" color prints, such as are often required in everyday office work, for cost reasons. [0003] On the other hand, standard papers often produce only insufficient color depth in inkjet printing, have excessively long drying times and / or lack satisfactory edge definition. [0004] Furthermore, the...
