The topographical features include an interconnected channel network configured to direct aqueous in the patient's eye to flow through and across the surfaces of the membrane implant to reduce intraocular pressure. A plurality of control structures are implemented on one or more selected locations of the first and second surfaces to regulate the aqueous in the patient's eye.
