Spring travel limiter for overrunning alternator decoupler

A decoupler assembly for transferring rotary movement between an engine driven shaft and a serpentine belt. The decoupler includes a hub configured to be assembled to the shaft. The hub has a helical first slot formed therein. A pulley is rotatably coupled to the hub. A carrier is mounted on the hub and includes a helical second slot formed therein, as well as an anti-ramp up boss formed thereon. A thrust plate is fixed to the hub and has a slot formed therein. A torsion spring is compressed between a hub end retained in the helical first slot and a carrier end retained in the helical second slot for transferring torque between the hub and carrier. The anti-ramp up boss travels within the slot formed in the thrust plate for limiting rotation between the carrier and thrust plate and preventing rotation of the torsion spring relative to the hub and carrier.

Pressurized oil discharged from an oil release interface can be directed towards a radially outer region of the oil collection chamber (440, 640, 840, 1040) and can be collected in the oil collection chamber (440, 640, 840, 1040) for subsequent exhaust.

Bearing and hinge mechanism

A spherical plain bearing has an outer ring having a concave first bearing surface and an inner ring having a convex second bearing surface slidably disposed to the first bearing surface. The inner ring member also has a third bearing surface for engaging a pin to be mounted in the bearing. At least one bearing surface has a lubrication groove, and one of the outer ring and the inner ring is made from 440 stainless steel while the other is made from a precipitation-hardened martensitic stainless steel. Alternatively, the outer ring and the inner ring may be made from steel and a copper-beryllium alloy. In yet another alternative, the bearing need not have a lubrication groove, but may have a lubrication liner on the third bearing surface. A dropped hinge mechanism for a flap on a fixed wing aircraft has a hinge that includes such a bearing.

An apparatus is provided in one example embodiment and includes a power management module configured to receive data associated with travel being proposed by an end user of an electric vehicle. The power management module is configured to suggest a starting time for the travel based on time of use (ToU) rates for electricity consumption and a current level of power in the electric vehicle. In more specific embodiments, the data associated with the travel includes a starting location, an ending location, and a proposed drive time. In other embodiments, the power management module is further configured to interface with a mapping tool in suggesting the starting time for the end user. The power management module can be configured to obtain the ToU rates from a utility, and the ToU rates are provided as a function of time.

Multiple flow rate eductive dispenser

A dispenser for dispensing at two flow rates eductively draws a chemical fluid such as a concentrated cleaning solution for diluting with a motive fluid such as water. Using eduction rather than gravity feed provides a consistent dilution ratio over a range of pressures of the motive fluid. A chemical reservoir contains the chemical fluid and a bottle insert assembly for interfacing to the dispenser. The bottle insert assembly seals an opening to the reservoir when the reservoir is not inserted in the dispenser, preventing leaks. Also, the bottle insert assembly includes dual pickup tubes, each with a purge accumulator, to allow dual rate flow at the same or different dilution ratios as well as drawing back unused chemical fluids from the dispenser to avoid carryover or contamination.
