The sand mixing system comprises a central processing unit as well as an inlet electromagnetic flow meter, an outlet electromagnetic flow meter, an ultrasonic liquid level detector, an isotope gravelfluid ratiometer, a pressure transducer, a stirrer, a quartz sand material inlet, a water inlet, an inlet pump and an outlet pump which are connected with the central processing unit, wherein the central processing unit comprises a CPU, an A/D (Analog-to-Digital) converter, an D/A converter and a liquid crystal display screen. In the control method, the central processing unit is used for sending out a command to control the work of the water inlet, the quartz sand material inlet, the inlet pump, the stirrer and the outlet pump; the inlet electromagnetic flow meter, the outlet electromagnetic flow meter, the ultrasonic liquid level detector, the isotope gravelfluid ratiometer and the pressure transducer are used for transmitting collected data into a PLC; and the data obtained after calculation by the PLC are displayed on the liquid crystal display screen.
