The method comprises the following steps of: shooting reflected ultraviolet images of the detected poultry eggs by using a digital camera, transmitting information to a computer through an image acquisition card, performing a series of image processing by the computer, and then establishing an automatic identification mode according to the statistical data and the set related parameters. The device for implementing the method consists of a detection point, a camera bellows, an ultraviolet light source, the digital camera and the computer.
