A water-absorbent sheet composition comprising a water-absorbent resin and a hot melt adhesive that are held between two or more hydrophilic nonwoven fabric sheets, wherein the hydrophilic nonwoven fabric has a basis weight of 25 g / m2 or more, the content of the water-absorbent resin is 200 to 400 g / m2 and the content of the hot melt adhesive is 0.10 to 0.50 times as much as the content (by mass) of the water-absorbent resin.
