Abstract

The invention provides an efficient concrete thickener which can effectively improve the consistency of concrete and cannot reduce the fluidity of concrete and a preparation method thereof. The efficient concrete thickener is prepared by mixing the following components in percentage by weight: 80-90wt% of polymer having ring structures and containing fatty alcohol branched chains, 2-8wt% of acrylic monomer, 2-8wt% of phenylpropadiene, 1.0-2.0wt% of an oxidant, 0.5-1.0wt% of a stabilizer and 0.3-0.5wt% of a chain transfer agent. By applying the thickener in cement concrete, the workability of concrete can be significantly improved and the coating property and pumpability of concrete are increased and meanwhile, the interference to a water reducer cannot be caused. The preparation method has the advantages of simple process, no dropwise adding process, no need of heating and short reaction period and can be widely used in various concrete as an auxiliary material.
