Embodiment 1

[0100] A set of PBT IRS compositions (G1-G6) were prepared using the raw materials described in Table 1 below. Each composition G1-G6 contained lead, bismuth and tellurium based materials. A set of control compositions (Control 1 to Control 3) were also prepared in which only two of the lead, bismuth and tellurium based materials were used. Samples were prepared in 100 g batches by mixing the individual oxide components in the amounts specified in Table 1 . Load the oxide mixture into the 8.34 in3 volumetric Colorado crucible. The crucible was then placed in an oven at 600°C for 40 minutes to preheat the oxide mixture. After preheating, the crucible was moved into a refractory oven at 850°C for 15 minutes to fuse the components into a glass mixture. The molten glass was then removed from the oven and poured into buckets containing deionized water for a quick quench. The glass material was further processed in a 1 L ceramic jar mill. Fill the jar mill approximately halfway...

Embodiment 2

[0114] A second set of PBT IRS compositions (G13-G20) were prepared according to the parameters described in Example 1 using the raw materials described in Table 3 below. These compositions all contain the PBT system, and also contain other M-oxides. All amounts are based on 100% total weight of the IRS.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to lead-bismuth-tellurium inorganic reaction systems (IRS). In one aspect of the present invention, a conductive paste composition for solar panel technology, especially for forming front-side electrical contacts, comprises conductive particles, an organic vehicle and a lead-bismuth-tellurium inorganic reaction system. Background of the invention [0002] A solar cell is a device that converts light energy into electricity using the photovoltaic effect. Solar energy is an attractive green energy source because it is sustainable and produces only non-polluting by-products. Accordingly, a great deal of research is currently being devoted to developing solar cells with enhanced efficiency while continuing to reduce material and production costs. In operation, when light hits a solar cell, a portion of the incident light is reflected by the surface and the remainder is transmitted into the solar cell. Photons of transmitted...
