Abstract

A fuel valve for spraying a gas fuel into a combustor of a spontaneous combustion type internal combustion engine includes a long and thin fuel valve shell with a rear end and a front end; a nozzle having a plurality of nozzle holes leading to a needle valve pressure chamber in the nozzle and arranged at the front end of the long and thin fuel valve shell; a gas fuel inlet port arranged in the long and thin fuel valve shell and connected to a high pressure gas fuel source; an axially movable valve needle slidingly housed in a longitudinal hole of the long and thin valve shell and having a closing position and an opening position, wherein the axially movable valve needle is placed on a valve base in the closing position and is lifted from the valve base in the opening position, and a fluid in the combustor is connected to the gas fuel inlet port; an actuating system used for controllably moving the axially movable valve needle between the closing position and the opening position; an ignition liquid inlet port used for connection to a high pressure ignition liquid source; and an ignition liquid supply conduit which connects the ignition liquid inlet port to the combustor and also includes a fixation flow limiter.
