Abstract

The invention discloses an InP HBT voltage-controlled oscillator based on coupled transmission lines. The InP HBT voltage-controlled oscillator comprises a bias unit, an oscillating unit and a ballast resistor R1. Two coupled transmission lines are introduced to the oscillating unit as resonant elements of the voltage-controlled oscillator to realize voltage-controlled oscillation and variable voltage tuning. The voltage-controlled oscillator provided by the invention uses the coupled transmission lines to replace a DC blocking capacitor, so that the problem of frequency degradation caused by a parasitic effect of the DC blocking capacitor in a voltage-controlled oscillator of a cross coupling structure is solved, and the oscillation frequency is improved. The InP HBT voltage-controlled oscillator based on the coupled transmission lines provided by the invention can realize voltage-controlled oscillation frequency modulation without using a varactor, and can obtain a relatively wide frequency modulation range; and besides, the InP HBT voltage-controlled oscillator does not use the varactor, so that the problems in the prior art that the frequency modulation range is narrow due to the limitation of the varactor technology and the layout area is increased are overcome.
