The method comprises the following steps: (1) carrying out drying and crushing treatment on the low-rank coal; (2) carrying out firing treatment on limestone in a lime kiln; (3) carrying out crushing treatment on quick lime; (4) mixing the low-rank coal powder and the quick lime powder and carrying out ball pressing treatment to obtain material pellets; (5) supplying the material pellets into a coke oven and carrying out quality improvement treatment to obtain coal tar, raw coal gas and quality-improved pre-heated pellets; (6) carrying out calcium carbide reaction on the pre-heated pellets to obtain calcium carbide and carbon monoxide; (7) taking the calcium carbide to react with water in an acetylene generator to obtain acetylene; (8) introducing the acetylene, hydrogen and methane in the raw coal gas, carbon dioxide and the carbon monoxide into an acetylene benzene preparation reactor to react, so as to obtain a byproduct, namely benzoethylene.
